As the land grant institution for the state of Nevada, the University of Nevada, Reno has a broad statewide mission. In addition to the inherent outreach mission of Cooperative Extension, the School of Medicine, KUNR Public Radio and other services, the university encourages Online Learning, Independent Learning, and Interactive Video to disseminate knowledge throughout Nevada and beyond and to utilize external educational resources for on-campus instruction.
